Customers are Not Property

Customers and prospective customers are not property. Customers are people – just like our self.

People seek a product and/or service to fulfill a need. Businesses are not entitled to people. Individuals and organizations fulfill their needs, even when the entity is not able to satisfy their need. It’s an opportunity to pass them along to a peer. No fear – All trust. It’s not competition – it’s building and sustaining positive relationships – for all parties involved.

Entitlement: belief that one is deserving to certain priviledges
Fear: afraid, apprehensive
Trust: one in which confidence is placed

Which chakra was activated and/or reacted to the message above? If it wasn’t your heart chakra, what a wonderful growth opportunity. If it was your heart chakra, congratulations.

7.22.10 – The ABC’s of a Transition

The ABC’s of a Transition

T = Time

You are given indicators that suggestion it’s time to transition.  You may not recognize it right away.  It may not feel obvious – you may just feel incomplete.  Additionally, transitions take time.  There are physical, mental, and emotional elements when moving forward.  Are you losing sleep over the decision and asking yourself “should I or shouldn’t I?”  Sometimes it takes time just to evaluate the options.  You have options.

As Michael Jackson sang in The Wiz”ease on down, ease on down the road…”

R = Realism

Whether the transition is of your choosing or placed upon you, be realistic about your feelings, your thoughts, your actions, and your plan.  Take the time to listen to what’s going on inside and outside the situation.  Recognize that your friends and family may be affected by your transition.  Realize that you’ll face challenges.  The situation itself and your perspective around it determine the magnitude of the challenge.  Honor yourself and keep it real.

A = Ability

Your wisdom and intelligence prove you have the ability to move in the direction of your choice.  If it’s a natural tendency to succeed in a particular area, it may be a strong indication that you have the ability to move forward down that path.  If any point your ability is less than ideal but your instinct is guiding you in a particular direction, evaluate your options.  Is this the right time?  Are there preliminary steps that are prerequisites for consideration?  It’s still forward movement for it’s the stepping stones on your transition journey.  You have the ability – it might need a little more strength and attention.

N = Nurture

Nourishment is a form of nurturing your mind, body, and soul.  Nurturing is also encouraging growth and development of a person, place, or thing.  You have the opportunity to nurture yourself, your journey, and the outcome.   Visualize the ideal state – the outcome.  Be specific in asking the universe for what you want to “be.”  It’s the Universal Law of Deliberate Creation.

S = Surrender

At some point, you may need to surrender control.  Give in to the force that is guiding you forward.  The momentum may not paint a crystal clear picture, but if it feels right, it may be the universe guiding you along to the ultimate solution.  Keep in perspective that how others define your path may not suit you.  You have the power to let it serve you per your definition.

I = Instinct

Trust your gut.  If something doesn’t smell right, question it and/or change your plan.  Many times it’s this instinct that initiates the need to transition to the new state.  Don’t underestimate the power of your instinct.  It’s a natural feeling that has guided you before and is available to guide you further.  If it comes into question, grad a kitchen timer and meditate for 20 minutes.  See what your instincts, along with the universe, tell you.

T = Trust

A key factor in a successful transition is confidence.  Confidence is gained by experience and trust.  Trust in yourself, trust in others, trust in the process.  As you seek guidance from others, you instinctively have your trust meter running.  Sharing ideas that may not be public knowledge, you trust the person who’s receiving your information.   You trust what you know to be true with your fixed and variable factors.  You seek a trusted process and/ or person to support you on your journey.

I = Ignite

Let the sparks fly!  You’ll have an aha! moment at least once and it will fuel your fire.  You’ll have opportunities to spark action based on ideas that come to you through your creativity.  Knowledge is power and as it increases for you it will generate action.  Sometimes so much energy is generated that you’ll have to back off a bit to keep yourself balanced.  But, be careful not to let others extinguish your flame.

O = Open

Open your mind.  Transitions may be the result of removing yourself from a bad situation.  Negative energies of people and places will carry with you until you release them.  It may even require forgiveness.  Be open to the mind chatter that you feel and work to clear if from your head.  Open your heart to feel the support of your family, friends, and your professional coach.  Be open to new ideas to broaden your current definition of the next phase.  It may not turn out as you originally planned in your mind.

N = New Normal

Transitions are never fully complete.  As you begin one transition, you secretly have others brewing on the stove.  It’s a wonderful world of change of which you reside.  Regardless of how many transitions are happening, you are forever defining new normal standards for yourself.  Normal doesn’t necessarily mean average.  It’s a newer, healthier state of mind, body, and soul.  If it’s not quite healthy, then the next adjustment is to make it a better fit.

S = Support

Recognize the benefit of a strong support system during your transition.  Going it alone rarely yields the best result.  It can be a lonely place, especially if you are a person who resides more in your head than your heart.  Spinning in circles in your head will also manifest itself outwardly.  The phrase ‘scatter brain’ comes to mind.  You don’t have to be the brave soldier and do it alone.  Give yourself permission to ask for help.

In closing, again reflecting on Michael Jackson from The Wiz

“…ease on down, ease on down the road.  Don’t you carry nothing that might be a load come on, ease on down, ease on down, down the road.”
