Enhance Your Business Plan – Intuitively Set an Intention

As business professionals, we put together a business plan and we move forward to execute that plan. Do we review the plan throughout the year or following years? Are we still on task? If not, have we revised the plan to meet our needs and the needs of the customers? What is the mission? What is the intent?

Some business leaders I know set aside time at a coffee shop EVERY SUNDAY to review their plan and make adjustments. I equate this to being similar to a teacher’s lesson plan for the week. BUT, it’s a continuous focus. I also know of leaders who annually give up 2-4 weeks of their “sales time” to go internally and develop their business intuitively. I’m impressed with their ability and priority to retreat.

What does it mean to develop your business intuitively? Geshe Michael Roach and Lama Christie McNally wrote a fabulous book titled The Diamond Cutter: The Buddha on Managing Your Business and Your Life. There are many great practical techniques explained. Most impressive are the real business problems and solutions addressed in detail.

1. Setting an intention and guiding yourself and your business intuitively is a simple task using one important tool. It’s as simple as trusting your gut. The personal and professional development comes in developing your intuitive awareness and skills. I often use the phrase “it didn’t smell right” – meaning I didn’t get a good vibe about this subject when I gave it the smell test. Pay attention to your body and mind when developing and responding to your business ideas/plans. Familiarity with the chakra system is an asset here as well. We can learn to read our body and our mind with the opportunity to clear any stagnation, yet understand the source of discomfort and/or anxiety. It provides opportunities to further modify the plans as necessary.

2. Meditation and “setting the day” with intention is extremely powerful. Here we have the opportunity to clear that which is troubling us as well as setting forth a positive outlook for the day, week, month, year, etc. Amazing discoveries are available in meditation. Again, it’s a skill that can be developed with beautiful results. It’s not one to fear, but to find a qualified person as a guide.

3. Consult with an intuitive professional. These individuals are succeeding themselves by applying these same concepts. Many, including myself, use vision boards, crystals, journals, meditation, yoga, energy healing, EFT, muscle testing, and various other techniques. You can too.

Business plans are wonderful and effective. Adding the art of intention by developing your intuitive side is a fabulous complement to thriving in life and the workplace.

Day 11 – Detox & Emotional Release

So, it’s Day 11. I’m still doing it! Yesterday I was on the fence and a few times thought 10 days was enough. I awoke on Day 10 feeling phenomenal, but the smell of the vegetables in the crock pot overnight made me feel sick. I had enough of that same combination of vegetables. It was the 3rd day of my 3 day weekend at Yoga Teacher Training out of town. I kept my plan as simple as I could and I found myself in a rut. This morning, in keeping with my “one day at a time” mantra, I decided to keep moving forward with the plan.

As of this morning, I’m down 9 pounds. I haven’t checked my blood pressure in a few days, but will do so shortly. I measured my belly and waist and was quite happy with the inches I’ve lost. It does feel good to flush the system. My digestive system feels good – I’m so fluid and flowing. It really is a great feeling. It’s like completing one of your best yoga classes and maintaining that feeling every day. Yesterday, one of my yoga teacher student peers told me “I was glowing.” Smiles! Today, I’m changing up the vegetable recipe and feeling empowered to continue another day. If I had to guess, Friday (Day 15) or Sunday (Day 17) will be my final day before transitioning into the ‘coming off the detox’ plan. This allows me time to regulate my digestive system before my upcoming vacation.

I experienced my first emotional release yesterday. It totally caught me off guard, but was so appropriate. The fabulous thing about the yoga teacher training program I’m enrolled in is that we are learning about ALL of yoga – not just the physical postures (asanas.) It’s a soul searching, reflective process. Yesterday afternoon, as a class, we journeyed to the woods for a contemplative walk. Our mission was to ask ourselves the question “What’s holding me back?” as we observed the woods for one hour. No talking – just observing. I’m a symbolic, intuitive person, and I came upon the symbolic scene that I interpreted as meant for me, that had me sobbing in tears. It was so appropriate and comforting. I felt safe and protected in nature in this experience. I then had the opportunity to open up my heart and my soul and share it with my peer yoga teacher students. The tears flew again. It was another safe space with like-minded people. It’s my new yoga family.

Detoxing isn’t just losing weight. Detoxing is shedding toxins – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I’m there – I’m shedding in all areas of my life. I’m convinced that I’ll continue to detox on a regular basis. I feel so good and want to feel like this forever. I may be one of many who detox one day a week. TBD.

I’m looking forward to my detox body wrap on Day 13 – another motivational activity that fits with the theme of the program. Yippee!

I Did It…I Took the First Step Forward

Traditional Yoga

Sometimes the first step is the hardest one to take. But I did it! Yesterday I officially mailed my application for a nearby Yoga Teacher Training School. The training and certification feel so right for me (intuition), but I still had some fear around completing and submitting the application. Now that it’s mailed and probably received today, I’m feeling more empowered to move forward.

Where are you delaying the first step in the next powerful phase of your life?
I invite you to take a leap of faith – using your gut (intuition) as your guide.

Trust Your Intuition & Follow Your Passion

People react to the actions and words of others in various ways. It may be with excitement, with wonderment, with resistance, with humor, and possibly with disgust. Too often judgment steps into the situation. Regardless of the position, if the receiver is aware of the other’s reaction, the individual chooses to either accept the judgment/reaction or let it bounce off. As the recipient, ask yourself:

(1) Am I confident in myself?
(2) Who has the power in the situation?
(3) What weakness is the other showing me in this situation?

Yesterday I was asked to share a great thing about myself. With confidence I shared that the previous day I began writing my book. One person in the crowd was quick with a smart remark. It was passed off as a humorous question, but was truly a knee-jerk reaction. My response, with confidence and peace and without thought was “it’s one of my professional goals.” And I didn’t think about it again until today, 24 hours later.

I’m not sure what brought it forward again today, but I discovered my confidence in trusting my intuition and following my passion. I know that I’m meant to write my book – every vibrant bone and energy in my body and sphere intuitively show me the way. I identified that I trust my instincts here and that’s how I was able to meet the other’s reaction with such confidence and happiness. I was resilient and it bounced right off. The person with the knee-jerk reaction knows very little of my experiences, my knowledge, and me. I am a confident, successful, inspirational woman with wonderful skills to share. And guess what, others want to learn from me.

Am I a fantastic writer? Maybe not.
Can I surround myself with a strong team to improve my odds? You bet. That’s why God brings us editors.
Will I make mistakes? Sure. The fun questions are: how many and where will it take me?
Will I grow in this experience? Absolutely.
Will I be happy along the journey? Yes – and if it is ever in question, then the journey may take another path.

It’s about following your intuition (even if it needs to change your course) and following your passion. Nothing is for sure – take the path of least resistance and with the most peace, happiness, and joy – regardless of other’s reactions. You can always make changes. Remember: other’s weaknesses can’t take away your power and passion, unless you let them. I was reminded here that it was another’s weakness and his need to fluff the feathers on his chest that caused him to react with his words. It has NOTHING to do with my abilities.

I am a confident, successful, inspirational woman with wonderful skills to share.

Hold your confidence, trust your intuition, and follow your passion. What’s your soul purpose?
