Customers are Not Property

Customers and prospective customers are not property. Customers are people – just like our self.

People seek a product and/or service to fulfill a need. Businesses are not entitled to people. Individuals and organizations fulfill their needs, even when the entity is not able to satisfy their need. It’s an opportunity to pass them along to a peer. No fear – All trust. It’s not competition – it’s building and sustaining positive relationships – for all parties involved.

Entitlement: belief that one is deserving to certain priviledges
Fear: afraid, apprehensive
Trust: one in which confidence is placed

Which chakra was activated and/or reacted to the message above? If it wasn’t your heart chakra, what a wonderful growth opportunity. If it was your heart chakra, congratulations.

3.12.11 ~ Energy of Natural Disasters – Are You Highly Sensitive?

I know that I am a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) but I realized the strength of it like no other the last few days with the horrendous, disastrous earthquake, tsunami, and rippling events occurring in Japan and the surrounding areas. I’m reminded how I vibrate on such a high level, energetically. I’m also reminded that although I clear my chakras and negativity regularly, I’m not protecting myself often enough.

Do you feel the energy of universal events? If so, how does your body respond? How do you protect yourself?

I take you back a bit before sharing the current events. I live in Wisconsin and for the last month I’ve been overwhelmed with friends, peers, politicians, and public media sharing their anger, frustration, and in many cases hatred for the political and collective bargaining process unfolding before my eyes. My energy gets zapped every time I open Facebook, read news headlines, and listen to the news. I’ve backed off on exposing myself to this negativity but I can’t remove myself all together as I desire to stay informed. What I’ve failed to do is protect myself often, as to not take on this negativity. It’s as simple as protecting myself before I open myself up to these communication channels. But in reality, we are blindsided and are hit with negativity when we least expect it.

I also have unhappy people in my daily environment, personally and professionally. Again, this is an energy drain for me and I have to protect myself. I regularly need to recognize that this is the energy, fear, and unhappiness of the other person – not me. With my high vibrational openness, I am susceptible to illness.

So that now brings me to the events unfolding in Japan and the surrounding coastal areas. As I write this, it’s the first time I’ve been able to lift my head from a pillow in 36 hours. I felt wiped out with great pain in my throat Thursday afternoon Central time, which was dawn Friday in Japan. I couldn’t explain how this hit me so suddenly. As the night proceeded, I continued to feel worse. At 1 am Friday morning locally, which was about 4 pm Japan time, I couldn’t stay in bed. The pain in my throat and the spinning of my head was overwhelming. I was trying to figure out what was happening to me. I got out of bed and turned on the news. Then I realized what was happening in Japan. WOW.

The more I listened and watched what was unfolding, the more I was in pain. My sore throat went away as quickly as it came on, but my head was spinning like no other. Then I put 2 and 2 together. I realized awhile later that my third eye was reacting to the disastrous events happening on the other side of the world. I was feeling the shock, the disruption, the pain, the damage, and the anticipated after-shocks and tsunamis in other parts of the world. I felt helpless, yet united with them. I’m far away, yet so close and connected.

I’m feeling the Universal shift happening. For 36 hours I was immobile on the couch. My head continued to spin. When I turned on the TV or tried to read my computer (or even tried to sit up) the pain and dizziness intensified. The best thing for me was to disconnect myself from all technology, information, and contact with the events. I turned my focus inward and upward. I focused on clearing that which wasn’t serving me well and turned to love and support for those directly and indirectly affected by the tragedy. I prayed, and I continue to pray, for the world.

I then remembered the Unity Prayer, as shared by my spiritual mentor. While I continue to pray and send love and healing energy out to the Universe, I continue to protect myself with the Unity Prayer. The prayer was written by James Dillet Freeman, the “poet laureate” of the Unity movement and director of Silent Unity, the prayer ministry of the Unity movement. Today I share it with you, especially if you are one my exceptional peers – another Highly Sensitive Person.

Unity Prayer for Protection
The Light of God surrounds me.
The Love of God enfolds me.
The Power of God protects me.
The Presence of God watches over me.
The Mind of God guides me.
The Life of God flows through me.
The Laws of God direct me.
The Power of God abides within me.
The Joy of God uplifts me.
The Strength of God renews me.
The Beauty of God inspires me.
Wherever I am, God is!

2.15.11 – (RTO) Radio#9: What is Intuition?

Hello, this is Jennifer Culver with Jentle Wellness. Today I’m addressing the question “What is Intuition?”

Intuition is a tricky word as it makes many people uncomfortable. It’s not meant to be uncomfortable – by definition it’s all about comfort – about following your passion, listening to your signals, and living a life of peace, love, and happiness. What makes it “tricky” is the perception that many have about the topic. In the last few weeks I’ve heard intuition referred to many times as “woo woo”. And you know what? That was me years ago. I then realized that it was my lack of information and my insecurities that made it appear as “woo woo.” Back then, I couldn’t explain it, so I didn’t believe it. I also didn’t put much attention towards it – it wasn’t my primary compass for life. I’m happy to proclaim that I love my intuition, and I love that I’m informed on how to tap into it and use it as guidance to the good life, if you will. I am also energized and following my passion by helping others tap into their intuition as well.

Intuition and spirituality differ from religion. It took me a long time to understand that for myself. I’m happy to say that I benefit from all of the above: my religious background developed me into who I am, as well as my spirituality and my intuition. I live an intuitive lifestyle. I do so by connecting with my “inner wisdom.”

In our fast paced world, we are very focused on external elements – the job, the family, the friendships, the house, the money, the technology, etc. Expectations come into play, and we get caught up in the moments and we run on autopilot. That is exactly the opposite of an intuitive lifestyle. Intuition is about looking within – still addressing the outside factors, the outside influences in our lives, but looking within for the answers, for the guidance, and for the love. It’s not about keeping up with the Jones’s. It’s about slowing down and listening to ourselves – what drives each of us, personally and professionally.

As you experience your day, I invite you to use all of your senses. When you’re facing a concern, look inside and “use your gut” – your intuition – and recognize or answer these questions: what do I feel – what do I sense – what do I hear – what does my body tell me – what do I see – what do I know? Take the concern away from your logical brain and move it to your body. This is where the mind/body/spirit connection is so powerful. Does the concern you’re facing make your heart ache? The heart is the energy center or chakra for Love and Relationships. Does the concern you’re facing make your stomach turn? The stomach is the energy center connected to your thoughts and beliefs concerning Power and Control, otherwise known as the Solar Plexus Chakra. What about your throat area? Is there congestion or discomfort there? The Throat Chakra is the energy center connected to your thoughts and beliefs about spoken and written communication. This is just one form of looking internally at what may be happening mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically in your environment.
Getting back to the general idea of intuition – what makes many uncomfortable with the idea of intuition is that we can’t always prove the source of the internal guidance. Every person receives guidance, but are we listening to the messages? It comes in many forms – symbols, patterns, dreams, voices, spine tingling, and instant knowing. Each person has a unique communication system. I don’t hear voices, but I receive guidance in my dreams, in symbols, and in what I feel, and I what I just know to “feel right.” There are various tools that can aid us in not only understanding what messages we are being sent, but also to give us direction on how to listen to the messages, the thoughts, the feelings, the vibrations. It’s our choice to develop the skills to listen, to take guided action, and to love our intuition.

To learn more about this topic and to speak with me personally either one-on-one or within my workshops, I invite you to visit my website www.jentleworld.com, and remember that’s jentle with a “J” just like Jennifer.

This is Jennifer Culver with Jentle Wellness. Until next time, Namaste my friends.

12.11.10 – December Article in Nature’s Pathways Magazine – “Reduce Holiday Stress with Energy Tapping”

Jennifer’s article posted in the December edition of Nature’s Pathways Magazine (Northeast Wisconsin version)

Reduce Holiday Stress with Energy Tapping – it’s quick, easy, and effective – check it out!!

http://naturespathwayswi.com/in-my-area/northeast-wisconsin/item/216-reduce-holiday-stress-with-energy-tapping.html

Here’s a preview…

Energy tapping, also known as Energy Freedom Technique (EFT), is relief at your fingertips. Like acupuncture and acupressure, it stimulates a change in your body at specific meridian points. A method of tapping with affirmations releases blocks in your mind (beliefs), body (energy) and soul. Energy psychology is an effective way of treating emotional and behavioral issues. It’s an approach to rapidly eliminate anxiety, depression, cravings, and more. With your fingers, you have the power to perform this yourself with a bit of guidance.

“Letting go of the emotions that trap you, painful memories, fears, depression or anger, is the way to a longer and healthier life.” (Deepak Chopra, M.D.)

10.5.10 – Highly Sensitive Children Often Misdiagnosed

Highly Sensitive Children (HSCs) are often misdiagnosed and labeled.  Medication is quickly a prescribed solution, especially if the family is unclear on the abilities of the children.  HSCs, like adults, are exceptional individuals with a higher frequency of intuition, vibration, and spirituality.  There are alternatives to medication.

HSCs are often unable to develop and maintain their spiritual gifts, as the awareness doesn’t exist.  For many, there is a social awkwardness that further enhances this misunderstanding.  Friends and family are not cruel; they too don’t understand the exceptional nature of the children.  Does your child have a difficult time around loud noises?  Is he or she easily disturbed with frightening or violent images or noises?  Are recurring nightmares a concern?  Is your child restless or a victim of insomnia?  Exposing children to such stimulations is not encouraged, but when they randomly appear in life, it may have a profound impact on the child, especially one who is highly sensitive.

Children benefit from energy and chakra clearing similar to adults.  It’s a process of removing negative thoughts and energies from the body, mind, and spirit.  Everyone has the ability to take in negative energies that exist around them – negative people, negative smells, negative sounds, etc.  With the HSC, this absorption of negativity is exacerbated.   These children benefit from an energy clearing more so than the average child.  Regardless, since everyone is susceptible to negativity, everyone would benefit from an energy clearing.

Professionals exist, making it their life purpose to assist HSCs with understanding their sensitivity and teaching them how to protect and cleanse themselves from their negative environment.  Healers who work with the children may be reiki/energy healers, professional coaches¸ professional therapists, and/or other spiritual healers.  Actions as simple as meditation may provide HSCs the opportunity to clear their minds.  When parents and friends aren’t aware of the correct diagnosis, nor the proper solutions, the HSC may be led down another path.

It isn’t breaking news that children are medicated more today than ever before.  Additionally, families are getting smarter about alternative approaches.  If your child exhibits any of the HSC behaviors, consider working with an alternative medicine professional or holistic healer to understand opportunities to naturally develop the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual gifts of your child.  HSC behaviors include: more exaggerated reactions to people/situations – especially negative people/situations, highly sensitive to sounds, smells, and sites (bright light), easily emotionally overwhelmed, difficulty sleeping and/or recurring nightmares, etc.  These are just a few examples.

In summary, HSC’s are not dysfunctional human beings.  On the contrary, they are highly functioning and highly developed.  They tend to be more in tune with themselves and others than the ‘average joe.’  For that, you owe it to your child to better understand their gift and their ability to enhance it for a fully rewarding life.  They too may be a healer in the future, if they are not already today.

For more information on highly sensitive people, visit http://www.hsperson.com for a vast range of resources, online and in print.  Additionally, talk to your local energy/reiki healer and professional coaches and therapists for recommendations on developing you and your child as you honor the child’s gift, and it is a gift.

8.13.10 – I Can’t Sleep!!

I Can’t Sleep!!

Is this you right now or earlier this morning?  That 3:13 am unwelcomed wake-up call – not your first choice.   You toss and turn and thoughts just keep flowing through your head.  You literally cannot turn it off.  It doesn’t have to be morning – it may be at 11:27 pm, knowing you have to arise at 6:00 am the next morning.  Some call it monkey mind or monkey brain.

The next time this happens, take a scan of your body.  Which body parts are “humming?”  In most cases, your mind is very unsettled.  Do you have the ability to think clearly?  Do you suffer from an addiction to shopping or possessiveness?  You may have an imbalance in your third eye chakra.  According to yoga philosophy, a chakra is a spiritual center in the human body.  There are seven: root, sacral, navel solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, and crown.  The third eye chakra, right between and above your eyes, gives you a sense for your level of intellectual balance.  If you can effectively visualize your future¸ can think clearly, and trust your inner wisdom, this chakra is probably balanced and you may be sleeping well at night.  If that is not the case, a dream journal and meditation may be helpful.  There are specific yoga poses that assist you in uniting the head and the heart so that conflict vanishes within these two areas.  Additionally, other poses can open the channels between your lower and upper chakras.

When your head is spinning, consider one of these mantras: “I am seeing and thinking with clarity” or “I am balanced and strong.”  Olivia H. Miller, author of The Yoga Deck and The Chakra Deck as mentioned throughout this post, quotes Rumi as saying “Mysteries are not to be solved.  The eye goes blind when it only wants to see why.”  This chakra is balanced by the color indigo; the light element; the crystals amethyst and sapphire (among others), the flower essences lavender, madia, and Queen Anne’s lace; and essential oils lavender, lemon, and clary sage.  Additionally, it’s related to the air food element, aided with the consumption of greens, green drinks and teas.

If your body scan results in discomfort in your abdominal area, this may be associated with your sacral chakra, the chakra of personality and creativity.  Saraha states “Here in this body are the sacred rivers; here are the sun and moon as well as all the pilgrimage places.  I have not encountered another temple as blissful as my own body.”  Miller points out “This chakra is the focal point of your emotions, sexuality, and creativity.  It governs our sense of self-worth, how we relate to others (in a sexual as well as nonsexual way), and the confidence we have in our own creativity…The essence of the sacral chakra is that of water, always flowing, never static.  It represents grace and acceptance, an ability to go with the flow.”

Are you afraid of change?  Is there guilt in your life?  Are you lacking or overwhelming in emotional energy?  These may be signs of your unbalanced sacral chakra – your lower abdomen and back.  Common addictive behaviors with an imbalanced sacral chakra are sex, work, relationships, and sugar.  Anything here sound familiar?  When you are in balance, you’ll feel confident and free to express yourself emotionally.  You enjoy pleasurable activities without question or guilt.  To bring it into balance, try listening to some gentle music, take a warm bath, get a massage, and participate in gentle yoga.  These practices can help release the tension in the body to promote calmness – serenity.  Some common mantras, as suggested by Miller, “I am alive and joyful”, “I am in the flow of my life”, “I am in tune with my emotions”, “I am able to surrender my fears.”  How wonderful.  This chakra is balanced by the color burnt orange; the water element; the crystals moonstone, orange tourmaline, and tiger eye; the flower essences basil, hibiscus, and lady’s slipper; and essential oils jasmine, rose, and ylang-ylang.  Additionally, it’s related to the liquid food element, aided with the consumption of water, juices, and teas.

The pain is in your chest – your heart aches.  This is the heart charka – the center where you process and store your emotions.   It’s no surprise that this chakra is associated with love and compassion.  It happens to be the balance point between the upper and lower chakras.  An imbalance here presents itself to you as depression, suspicion, possessiveness, emotional insensitivity, resentment, and most commonly as heartache, jealousy, and sadness.  When this chakra is balanced, you are free to give and receive love.  How beautiful.  Suggestions for bringing your heart chakra into balance include reading inspirational books, getting involved in community or charitable volunteer activities, meditation with Namaste hands, and yoga poses that open the chest and expand the heart center.  Miller suggests mantras such as “I am able to give and receive love”, “I am trusting, open, and grateful”, “I am open to receiving happiness in my life.”

This chakra is balanced by the color emerald green; the air element; the crystals emerald, rose quartz, and ruby; the flower essences bleeding heart, holly, and wild rose; and essential oils marjoram, neroli, and rose.  Additionally, it’s related to the green vegetables food element.

Your body is a communication tool – it notifies you of imbalances.  It’s a matter of listening to it and responding accordingly.   Tomorrow or the next day when you continue to have trouble sleeping, scan your body and consult your inner guide.  Once you are aware of the areas of focus, you can focus on those areas: mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.  For assistance in exploring and balancing your chakras and participating in guided meditations, contact Jennifer.  Additionally, consult the works of Olivia H. Miller.
